DLKW Dialogue Work Placement
I went down to DLKW Dialogue in London last week, on a 1 day work experience placement. I had a great day, despite not being a huge fan of how busy London generally is. We went down at around 6 in the evening, and slept at a travelodge. But they were full, so they had to taxi us out to one further out from the centre. Useless company. We then looked for a restaurant, but as we were in Islington, there was little or nothing to be seen. We ended up grabbing a Ginsters cornish pasty from the local Texaco station.
Anyway, after a restless night’s sleep due to traffic and a terrible air conditioner, we had breakfast and then headed off to Dialogue. Their offices are really amazing. Huge plasma screens, glass tables and they are all working on Dual processor Apples. Couldn’t fault the technology. The people there were very welcoming, and seemed to really know what they were talking about. I had a tour round, which was interesting, talked to designers, coders, copywriters, everyone really!
Went out for lunch, then did a similar thing in the afternoon. I read through a brief sent through from HBOS. Simon Andrews is a really interesting guy. Knows a lot about business/the internet, and his passion seems to be following the progress of technology. In fact, it was him who inspired me to start keeping a blog. Here are his comments:
“David came and spent some time with us on work experience and we were all really impressed; with his knowledge, his attitude and his work ethic.
We’d welcome him back here to spend longer with us.
