A man has been found adrift on a coconut tree off the coast of Indonesia more than 10 days after the giant tsunami struck.

A passing ship found Rizal Shahputra clinging to an uprooted tree some 100 miles off the Aceh coast.

He was adrift for eight days was one of many people who had clung to floating debris in the hours after the wave hit Aceh - Rizal watched as they slipped away and died.

“All my family drowned,” he said.
