DigiTV USB

About a year ago, I decided that rather than spend £150.00 for a new TV in my room, it would be more appropriate to buy a TV Tuner card for my PC. I looked around for a while, and decided that it would be best to spend money on a Digital tuner, to allow me to get the freeview channels.

I looked around for a while, and after being close to buying several devices, I settled on the Nebula DigiTV card. Well, not so much the card as the USB tuner. I decided on the USB version because of the fact that I would be switching PC’s in the near future, and I may have chosen to go with a laptop. As it turned out, I went for a full tower so it would have been better to go for the PCI card.

After a year of regular software updates, great technical support (when I had issues with the power supply) and a superb viewing experience, I just wanted to highlight how great this device is, and what my favourite features are:

  • EPG - A 7 day electronic program guide, with one click recording
  • Remote Control - Included with the package, with a great interface
  • Customisable - You can customise the interface with a background image
  • Network Viewing - Watch TV over a wired or wireless network, even in bed
  • Regular Updates - They update the DigiTV software on a regular basis
  • Student Discount - I saved 10% when I bought it

The two features I would really like to see would be the option to burn to a dvd directly from the software, and integration with Windows XP Media Centre 2005 (the operating system I run at the moment). Both are promised in future versions, and I’m really looking forward to them.
