Personally, I feel this is a long overdue addition to Apple’s range of products. I’m really pleased to see they have decided to offer a really low budget, high spec system to their lineup. I hope and anticipate that this could be the box which helps them move into the home consumer market for real.

I really can’t comprehend the possibilities for this tiny box. A superb home desktop PC? - It would also make an incredible media centre. Just imagine placing that next to your TV, connected to a shiny external hard drive, and your iPod. It would work so well! - I’ve seen hardware and software available to turn your mac into a Digital TV reciever, and I expect that this is where it will come into it’s own.

It’s so small! - Literally, the size of a CD, and only 5cm high. It’s the size of an aluminium CD case! I’m blown away that they managed to fit it all into something so ridiculously small. I would hope that heat and sound production haven’t been sacrificed for this, but as it’s Apple - I’m sure they won’t have been.

This is certainly something I’ll be looking into buying at some point. Very rarely does a gadget come along that I just think - I’d really think that would benefit me. The last time that happened was with a 3g iPod - Years ago. It’ll help me get a feel for the Mac OS in a day to day basis, let me have a play with iLife (bundled), and set it up to work with all my existing hardware.

Time to add a bar to the right of the blog I feel. myMacMini fund I think….

Oh, and I’m not going in to specs. Why, when they are all right here. I’d need a bigger hard drive though… That can be sorted out.
