Athlete, Feeder, The Zutons
I probably haven’t mentioned previously that I’m going to see R.E.M in concert later this year (17th June to be precise). They are playing at Lancashire County Cricket Club, which should be an excellent outdoor venue. I just hope the weather is good, otherwise the whole thing could take a decidedly sinister turn…
After looking into the concert on the (very nice) R.E.M website, I discovered that the two support bands are The Zutons, and Feeder. Both of which I have heard of before, but not listened to (to any great extent). I decided to give a couple of their albums a try. The two I have been listening to regularly for the past week are Feeder’s “Pushing the Senses”, and The Zutons “Who Killed The Zutons”. Both of these have impressed me considerably, and have reinforced the feeling I have that the concert is going to be superb.
On a completely different note, after enjoying Athlete’s debut album (Vehicles and Animals), I have been pleasuring my ears with their new offering - Tourist. This is a worthy follow-up to their first album, and will certainly become a regular for me over the coming couple of weeks.
