Minium Icon Set Released

The Minium icon set is the latest release from Sascha Höhne, one of the greatest icon creators of the moment. He has fashioned several different icon packs, but this is his latest work which aims to replicate the metallic appearance of the Apple G5. I think they look great, and I’m impressed by the work he has managed to produce.
However, I think that there is too much hype about releases such as this, and people do not really give an opinion on what their views are of the item in question. It’s the same with many Apple products (iPod Shuffle for instance). Personally, I am slightly disappointed with the icon release. Sure, they look great, but there are many great icon sets out there are the moment. Only a couple of weeks ago I spotted a set called “Elements Drives” which really impressed me.
I think that Sascha Höhne has hyped these icons up to be something which they aren’t. There are quite a few icons in the set, but nothing compared to some other releases. I think that the quality of them is nothing special compared to many others. He may have been one of the greatest icon designers back around the time when Snow E2 was released, but it seems that he has not raised his game with this latest release.
Good work, but not what they are hyped up to be.
