Move of site

Wordpress 1.5 Upgrade

Post Categories   Post Time 3 years, 9 months ago

I’ve had plenty of time on my hands recently, so decided to upgrade my blog to Wordpress v1.5 today. The upgrade went relatively smoothly, and I didn’t have all that many problems. Although there were a few issues with plugins, the theme and such, it only took around an hour to make the transition.

So, now I’m through the other side of the software tunnel, I’ve decided that I might give this site a bit of a revamp. I fancy a more minimalistic approach, looking a little cleaner and less cluttered. This may involve a little more white, and some hints of colour. I’d like to keep the CSS colour changer, but make it easier to use (maybe base it on making a change just by entering an RGB code?).

I’m also considering a change of name for the blog. As good as “David Appleyard” is, I think it certainly lacks a unique identity. I’ve gone ahead and registered “Blarb.com”, which I think has a catchy and unique feel to it. I’m not sure whether that will progress, but it is certainly a strong consideration.

I suppose another change I would like to make would be to make my posts a little less trivial. I would like to aim for more of an article approach, rather than sticking with just placing up little snippets of information (which is more or less the case at the moment). I’m not sure yet what this will mean changing, but I hope that it will make the blog more readable, and more interesting.
