It looks as though there are going to be some changes taking place at 123Reg, my primary domain registrar. They will involve tighter integration with Pipex, and improving their service to customers. I don’t know whether any front end design changes will be put in place, but I hope that will be the case. Their website is one of the most clunky around in it’s genre. Read on for the email newsletter they sent out:

We would like to share with you that we are currently engaged in a
complete redevelopment of the 123-reg infrastructure, designed to
dramatically improve and future-proof the system so that we can deliver
the best possible quality service to our customers.

As part of this exciting redevelopment, we will be re-designing the
infrastructure and siting it within one of the most technically-
advanced datacentres within the PIPEX group, with improved capacity,
upgraded hardware, and maximised connectivity. We are planning the re-
design with the utmost care to ensure that our customers experience no
deterioration in service during the changeover, and as well as improved
stability and upgraded components the system will benefit from full
24/7 system support cover from our most experienced engineers.

Another change that you may notice is that if your .uk domain name is
on the HOSTEUROPE tag, it will shortly be transferred to the 123-REG
tag. This will naturally appear in a whois performed on your domain,
but will not affect your service and will make no difference to the
functionality of your domain name(s).

We expect this redevelopment to be completed by the end of June 2005.

In addition to this forthcoming improvement in the 123-reg
infrastructure, we will be undertaking further changes to the 123-reg
system over the coming months which will be designed to enhance our
service to you. We remain committed to maintaining our position as
