PQI Intelligent Stick USB 128mb

After losing my old MP3/USB Stick a couple of weeks ago I figured it was time to opt for a more gadget/techy approach. A few minutes of scouring the net resulted in the PQI Intelligent Stick. It’s a tiny, and I mean tiny, memory stick style device - which fits straight into a USB port. I decided that this time around I’d want something I could keep in my wallet - There’s no way I’ll be misplacing that… hopefully.

It comes with an adaptor to make it a larger size (not needed) and also a credit card sized holder (holds two of them) to easily place it in your wallet. That should be incredibly useful for me!

These are the specs of the device:

Description - Intelligent Stick 2.0 is so thin that fits in your wallet! and it is 40 times faster than USB 1.1 and no driver needed

Interface - USB 2.0/1.1

Capacity - 128M/256M/512M/1G

Data Transfer Rate - Write of over 7 Mbyte/sec and read of over 8 Mbyte/sec

Write Protect - No

OS Supported - Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP , MAC OS 8, Linux 2.4.0

Power Supply - 3.3V/5V

Power Consumption - operating<140mA suspend<0.2mA

Dimensions - 43 x 18 x 2.8 mm (1.69 x 0.71 x 0.11 in)

Weight - 3 g (0.01 lb)

I too have bought one of these. I got the 512 MB version. Has yet to ship but should be in the next few days.

I bought a 256 mb one of these last year for work and it was a great improvement over my large PNY thumb drive. This stick is seriously tiny! You are completely right, fitting in the wallet is no big deal. Now that you reminded me of this little guy, I’ve been wanting to install Portable Firefox on it.

Oh, and the cost of this drive is VERY cheap compared to other brands. Guess they are so “off brand” that people assume it’s no good.

Indeed - It’s been a really good investment. And portable firefox sounds like a great idea :)

These are great, I bought a 32mb one about a year and a half ago when they first came out on ebuyer :). Keep an eye on it though - I lost mine :(
