SimplePhotos 0.4 Beta Released
I’m incredibly grateful for all the talented PHP scripters who have contributed to this version. It has allowed the software to progress much faster than I expected, and has enabled several new (pretty cool) new features. The new version is 0.4 (for those of you keeping track), and can be found as usual on the SimplePhotos page.
Some of the new features include:
- Improve default layout and design (again!)
- Comments facility on photos (optional)
- Subfolder navigation
- Fixed photo count issue
- Fixed issues with PHP safe mode
- Fixed various security issues
- Added caching of photos
- Made XHTML and CSS standards compliant
- Read EXIF data where available
Please read the INSTALL file before you start complaining about comments not working. You have to chmod your photo folder to 777 for it to work. Any other issues, please email the usual address - simplephotos@ppleyard.org.uk.
Enjoy!

Great job, once again. You’ve added some great and useful features, while still keeping things “simple.” I love it.
