4mb Broadband
Blueyonder (Telewest) today upgraded our broadband connection to a full 4mb per second. I’m amazed at their execllent level of quality and service, they continue to impress me. We very very rarely have any problems with the Internet being unavailable, and they continue to offer a better service at no extra cost. Browsing web pages seems similar, but I guess FTP and downloading music/videos will be significantly quicker.
Excellent work Blueyonder!

I’m so jealous. I think I’m going to move across the big pond just to have Internet that fast.
P.S. What the heck is the thing on the bottom of my comment about hash-cash?

The hash-cash thing is a spam protection system for WordPress, which works well for the most. It catches about 500 or so per month! But some get through…

Yeah, I love it when ISP’s just randomly upgrade your speed. Where I live, our ISP just totally spontaneously upped our speed from 2mbit to 8mbit. I still am not used to it!
And I recommend you check out http://akismet.com/ for spam prevention. Actually, I highly recommend it. Akismet has only let one spam through and caught literally tens of thousands of spam on my blog. Plus, if one does get through, and you mark it as spam, it will send the comment to the Akismet servers and it will automatically update their spam prevention algorithms.
But, as far as the internet speeds go, I still think nothing comes close to what Tommie has: http://tommie.nu/2006/02/01/100-mbit-baby/
