It’s been a while since I went away anywhere on holiday, and I’ve just spend a really nice weekend away in Edinburgh. We took the train up (first class!) on Saturday and came back on Monday, staying at the Apex International hotel. The weather left a little to be desired, but we still managed to see quite a lot and get to grips with the city. It’s a great place for a short break, and I’m looking forward to going back again sometime in the future.

First of all, my apologies for the recent downtime of the site which has been a result of several problems I’m not going to go into now. I’ve moved the site to a new server and all seems to be going well. A lot has happened in the last few weeks! I’ve launched the new Design Shack, which I’ll feature at a later date. I’ve set up and continued contributing to the Our Stock Works Blog, with a great deal of progress being made on Our Stock Works itself.

I have also finished work for summer, and am ready to head off on holiday for two weeks to Austria and Germany which I’m thoroughly looking forward to. It should be a great break, and a good chance to shoot some photography. I have plenty of posts to write, and look forward to writing more over the summer. It’s good to be back!

I’m setting off on holiday to Oslo, Norway today for a winter break. It’s apparently quite snowy there at the moment, so I’ll hopefully be able to try my hand at some skiing! It should also be a great photography opportunity, and I hope to return with lots of nice shots from the cold, wintery setting.

Oslo is also apparently the most expensive place in the world, so I don’t expect to return with any spare currency…

I’m pleased to say that I passed my driving test, which means I can now drive legally in the UK on my own. Should be a whole new feedom as far as I’m concerned, and I’m really looking forward to not having to rely on other people. I’ll be driving a small blue Clio most of the time, a fantastic car. Taking a driving test is a fairly terrifying experience, but I’m thankful I didn’t do anything to mess it up.

I passed my driving theory test today, so can look forward to taking a practical test soon.

If look forward is the right word…
